Campout events

The Big Canopy Campout is a coordinated international event gathering hundreds of people around the world to campout in their local forests over a chosen weekend each year.

We encourage as many people as possible to register their own campouts worldwide in a collective peaceful protest against the continual destruction of our native forests.

Using online platforms we share our appreciation and fascination for trees with hundreds of others providing an opportunity to share and explore our diverse world of forests, trees and ways we connect with our environment

It’s your chance to show off your little corner and tell its story to the rest of the world.

As with any protest or demonstration, the wave of collective action, amplified by social media, builds upon itself. When you’re alone, climbing a tree can seem like a somewhat whimsical, even juvenile, act. En masse it felt like a global movement, a bright tremor of protest running around the darkening earth.
