A global community of
tree enthusiasts

Big Canopy Campout is a community interest company (C.I.C) dedicated to the protection of native forests worldwide.

Our social enterprise provides a platform for the growing global community of tree climbers, arborists, researchers, activists, families and tree enthusiasts to connect in an international annual fundraising event celebrating forests and the people protecting them.

Join the campout event

Join the worlds largest coordinated international campout event and help us protect native forests worldwide.

Held over one weekend each year the Big Canopy Campout fundraising event encourages people to camp out and up in trees in an act of solidarity and appreciation for our wild spaces.

Share news, campout stories, ideas, science and learn new ways of connecting with our natural world.

  • Register online for our Big Canopy Campout event 2023 and join the growing community of forest ambassadors in celebrating the natural world over the weekend of 28th & 29th July

  • All registered campouts are added to the interactive map showing our international network of people taking part in the annual event. Take a look to see if there are campouts near you!

  • Get scientific with your campout by sharing your observations with the community. Identify the trees, animals and plants in your local area using helpful guides and contribute to worldwide research monitoring the health of our forests worldwide.

Investing in native forests

Each year Big Canopy Campout raises funds for a grassroots organisation dedicated to the protection of native forests.

During the 12 month period money is raised through our campout fundraising event, sales from our online shop and personal donations whilst learning about the project and people involved.

In 2023 BCC will support the SËRA Foundation, an indigenous group of youth forest defenders of Siekopai nationality from the Ecuadorian Amazon.

Learn more about their story of resistance and how you can help.
