In September 2023 the Big Canopy Campout team, a collection of arborists, herbalists and videographers, travelled to Ecuador and met with an organisation of young indigenous Siekopai forest defenders.
Combining modern arboriculture skills with indigenous knowledge and values they work together to avoid ancestral Siekopai land succumbing to destruction and fragmentation caused by exploitative industries that threaten their existence.
